
ABOUT ME
I am an internationally recognised expert in Respiratory Medicine, Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, with over 30 years Consultancy and Academic experience.
I have over 25 years of medico-legal work experience involving a broad range of conditions including asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, lung infection, mesothelioma, lung cancer, pleural diseases, pulmonary embolism and occupational lung disease.
I completed my MD in Nottingham in 1989 and spent a year as an MRC Travel Fellow at the CVRI in San Francisco before returning to Nottingham as a Lecturer, quickly being promoted to Senior Lecturer, then Reader in 1997 and Professor in 2000.
From 2004 to 2018 I was Head of the Division of Respiratory Medicine in Nottingham and expanded the Department into one of the top 3 or 4 Respiratory Departments in the country.
I stepped down as Head of Division after 3 terms in office in 2018 and in August 2020 became Emeritus Professor.
